Make your Android faster

“My phone has to be incredible fast.”

“Waiting for an application to be loaded is annoying.”

Did you ever think something like that? Well, continue reading. Below will be explained how you can make your Android phone faster.

If you are a geek, you may already have looked around in the developer options. If not, look it up now. It can be found under phone settings. However, for some phones, it is a little bit hided. In that case, follow the following steps: Settings > About phone > (Software information >) Build number. Once the build number is shown, tap on it for seven times. When done, you’ve unlocked the developer options.

In the developer options, look for the Drawing section. There are three entries which are about the speed of animations: window animation scale, transition animation scale and animator duration scale. The lower the number you set, the faster your screen will update. Try different settings and you will be amazed by the difference!

Have you turned all three off? Congratulations, you made your android faster.

Dear Arjan, thanks for your informative article.
There are a number of ways to make your android phone faster.
One of them is the way you propose, of turning off animations.
Another way is to disable applications that run on the background. This can be achieved manually by the following ways: Disable it in your App Manager by going to Settings > Apps, tapping the app, then tapping Disable.
Or Force Stop it by going to Settings > Apps, swiping right to the Running tab, tapping the app, then tapping Force Stop

Another way is to install applications like Greenify which automate the process for you. You just select which applications you wish Greenify to force stop and with one tap, Greenify will stop them!

For additional options I would suggest that you do a little more research and root your phone (although you have to put a little effort into reading manuals and guides since it is a dangerous procedure), which will make your phone open to all kinds of advanced changes in settings and procedures!

    Best Regards,
